Recovered Carbon Black (rCB) Supply

Recovered Carbon Black

Recovered carbon black (rCB) is the solid carbon fraction reclaimed from end-of-life tires and comparable rubber waste through pyrolysis, then refined, milled and pelletised into a consistent industrial filler and pigment. Klean Commodities supplies high grade rCB to compounders and converters who want the performance of furnace black with a materially lower carbon footprint and a traceable circular origin.

Where rCB is used

Why buyers switch

Three arguments usually close the decision. First, carbon intensity: rCB displaces a furnace black made by burning fossil feedstock. Second, supply resilience: rCB production is distributed and tied to a domestic waste stream rather than a handful of global furnace lines. Third, customer pressure — brand owners increasingly require recycled content in the compounds they buy, and rCB is one of the few fillers that can deliver it at scale.

Specification and qualification

No serious compounder adopts a filler on a brochure. We supply the available characterisation data for the grade being offered, provide samples for your own laboratory, and expect a trial compound before a term contract. Grade selection is driven by your application: loading level, required tinting strength, dispersion behaviour, residual ash content and pellet form all shape which production route suits you.

From sample to term supply

Orders begin as sample and trial lots, move to spot parcels in bulk bags or bulk tanker, and mature into annual offtake. Buyers with very large or strategic requirements often take the next step and commission their own plant — Klean Industries supplies premium rCB equipment and complete rCB systems, so an offtake relationship can become an ownership one. Where a project already produces low-grade landfill carbon char, that char can be upgraded to high-grade carbon black and activated carbon rather than being dumped.

Packaging and logistics

rCB is supplied in pelletised form for dust-free handling, packed in bulk bags, drums or bulk tanker depending on your intake system. Delivery is quoted ex-works, FOB or delivered. Compounders running continuous lines should discuss intake equipment early, because the handling system frequently decides whether a material is practical on site regardless of how well it performs in the mixer. Our supply chain team can quote delivered logistics as part of the offer.
